Reasons You Should Consider A Personal Fitness Trainer

    26 February 2019

It is that time of year again, the new year where everyone has a resolution and goals in mind to be a better version of themselves. While new year's resolutions are great and something to really motivate you, It is important to consider that no matter what time of year it is, it is always the right time to start your journey to become a better you. Getting back into shape and improving on your personal fitness and being healthy is a responsibility that can have everlasting benefits that will make anyone's quality of life and health that much better.  While many people are able to be self motivated and get themselves to the gym or even step outside the door and go on a run, many need that extra boost of confidence and motivation to do what must be done. Sometimes this extra push comes in the form of outside help such as a personal fitness trainer. When you are considering hiring a personal trainer there are a few things you should keep in mind. What kind of fitness do they specialize in? Are they able to take into consideration my personal goals and needs? What certifications might they hold? What is the experience of the personal trainer? Are they affordable? All of these questions are very important because at the end of the day it will be your body and mind that is improving and you have to have the right trainer who fits those needs. So with that being said let's discuss some things to consider when hiring a personal fitness trainer.

    Price
When you buy something especially a service, you usually get what you pay for. There is nothing wrong with trying to get a deal or save some money but when it comes to your physical well being you really shouldn't cut any corner and you should seek out the best possible trainer that knows what you need and can create a challenging yet realistic course of action that will get you in shape. Usually personal fitness trainers charge by the hour so expect to pay per session or weekly. As far as pricing goes typically for an hour you may be charged on average 50 to 60 dollars. If you have hired a trainer who specializes in a certain type of fitness such as pilates or crossfit you may find yourself paying more. If they have years and years of experience or have certain certifications you may find yourself paying a higher price. Sometimes depending on what facility they work out of our if they do calls to your own residency that may affect pricing as well. Most gyms require a monthly or yearly  membership that usually does not include personal training so any cost after your membership would have to come out of your own pocket. Some personal trainers have their own equipment and space that they can provide so having a gym membership isn't always a necessity depending.

    Experience

Experience no matter in what industry is vital to success. The more experience a person has the better off they are,not only on paper but in real life. If you are in the position to hire a personal trainer experience is a subject that you are going to want to immediately look for. You are probably going to want to hire someone who has tons of success stories and has a reputation and can show you testimonials from past clients and who has been in the industry for awhile over someone who is just getting started. While the more experienced and certified the trainer is the more expensive they may be if you are just starting out this is the wise decision and once you feel more comfortable and secure you could probably go to a trainer who may not have as much experience but you will have some so that will make it easier. Ask the tough questions like how many clients do you have? How many years of experience do you have? Do you have any testimonials you are willing to share? What do you specialize in? Also be sure to do your due diligence and research. Look up reviews online or call or ask around. The information is there you just have to find it.

    Your Personal Goals
Aligning with someone who understands your goals and needs is absolutely vital to your physical success and health. It is very important for your trainer to not push you too hard to the point of possible injury but also not let you cut corners and sell yourself shirt. Firm yet fair is usually a great approach. You want someone who is going to push you to overcome any mental blocks or obstacle you may have set in place. Getting in shape is not just going to the gym and sweating it out, it also has to do with diet which plays a vital role in being healthy. Think of your body as a machine or a car. If you put low quality gas into a car it will not run as well as if you put premium unleaded gas in it. Same goes for your body. If you eat fast food and sugars your body will simply not function as well as it could be if you eat vegetables and fruits and proteins. Even the most inexperienced personal trainer knows that and if they do not motivate or suggest that you eat healthier then you need to find someone else.

Getting fit is not something that lasts an hour a day. It is a lifestyle and a constant work in progress. Getting help and expert advice from a certified personal fitness trainer is a tool that can help that process go smoothly and efficiently. If you find it hard to summon the motivation to get to the gym or get outside and perform physical activity then be honest with yourself and seek the outside help of personal trainer and make your life higher in quality and last longer. At first it will be hard but that is a good thing. If you truly want to improve and be a better version of yourself do it now and don’t wait any longer!
